Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and develop internal software requirements.
- Develop efficient embedded system architectures for power and controls system requirements.
- Design, implement, test, debug, and integrate large embedded software subsystems.
- Coordinate software requirements-based testing and support system test activities.
- Use Python for scripting and automation tasks.
- Provide ongoing maintenance support for released software.
- Take responsibility for significant software design efforts and champion software designs and products.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with emphasis on C/C++, or equivalent education and experience.
- Two to five years of experience developing moderately complex real-time embedded software.
- Knowledge of DSP, RTOS, and C/C++ programming.
- Demonstrated design, development, and testing experience with embedded software products in high-reliability environments.
- Knowledge of standard software development processes, methods, and configuration management.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must be able to obtain or hold an active Department of Defense security clearance if required.
- Preferred qualifications include power electronics control software, PWM controllers, A/D and D/A converters, communications interfaces, hardware drivers, board support, multi-threaded real-time designs, embedded Linux, FPGA/VHDL, TI DSP devices, NXP processors, MATLAB Simulink, automated testing, military products, military specifications, DOORS, DO-178, and DO-254 experience.
