Responsibilities

  • Design and architect new Multipass features and user experiences.
  • Write high-quality modern C++ code for new features and bug fixes.
  • Review code and architecture as part of Canonical’s engineering process.
  • Debug and resolve issues reported by users.
  • Mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
  • Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
  • Foster the open source community and support customers when needed.
  • Travel internationally for up to two weeks twice a year for company events.

Requirements

  • Experience with cross-platform development on macOS and/or Windows.
  • Expertise in modern C++ development, with C++14 or later.
  • Experience with software testing and test-driven development.
  • Knowledge of hypervisor technologies such as Hyper-V, VirtualBox, KVM, and QEMU.
  • Open source experience and involvement.
  • Knowledge of CI systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems and techniques quickly.
