Responsibilities
- Design and architect new Multipass features and user experiences.
- Write high-quality modern C++ code for new features and bug fixes.
- Review code and architecture as part of Canonical’s engineering process.
- Debug and resolve issues reported by users.
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
- Collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
- Foster the open source community and support customers when needed.
- Travel internationally for up to two weeks twice a year for company events.
Requirements
- Experience with cross-platform development on macOS and/or Windows.
- Expertise in modern C++ development, with C++14 or later.
- Experience with software testing and test-driven development.
- Knowledge of hypervisor technologies such as Hyper-V, VirtualBox, KVM, and QEMU.
- Open source experience and involvement.
- Knowledge of CI systems is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or a similar field.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to learn new systems and techniques quickly.
