Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, maintain, validate, and test software for emergency call-handling products and systems.
- Develop Java-based web applications, REST APIs, and microservice architectures.
- Perform software and hardware system integration to maintain throughput and program consistency.
- Develop user documentation and support high-availability, cloud-based, and on-premises deployments.
- Use source control, DevOps tooling, monitoring, observability, automated testing, and troubleshooting practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent listed field.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience, including Java and web application development with Angular and JavaScript.
- Experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, cloud-based applications, REST APIs, microservices, and high-availability architectures.
- Knowledge of Git, DevOps tooling, monitoring and observability, unit testing, and automated testing.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Spring Boot, Terraform, Kubernetes, Wireshark, Docker, Python, application protocols, networking, and IT operations for always-available services.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, creativity, persistence, and willingness to learn new technologies and architectures.
Benefits
- Target base salary range is CAD 90,000–110,000.
- Travel is expected to be under 10%.
