Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Convert, optimize, and deploy machine learning models to iOS, Android, and wearable devices using edge inference frameworks.
- Apply quantization, pruning, and distillation to meet latency, memory, battery, and clinical-accuracy targets.
- Design the split between on-device and cloud processing, including offline behavior, fallback, and synchronization.
- Build a safe, versioned process for updating models on deployed devices.
- Validate on-device outputs against reference models and build tests across device types and operating-system versions.
- Collect device performance and quality metrics while respecting user privacy.
- Partner with mobile engineers to integrate models into applications and sensor experiences.
- Contribute to design reviews, verification activities, and technical documentation compliant with applicable regulations.
- Identify and resolve problems and improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 6 years of software or ML engineering experience, including at least 3 years deploying ML models on mobile or embedded devices.
- Hands-on experience with Core ML, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime, or equivalent edge inference frameworks.
- Experience with model optimization techniques such as quantization and pruning.
- Proficiency in Python and at least one of Swift, Kotlin, or C++.
- Understanding of mobile performance constraints including battery, memory, latency, and background execution.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries, especially medical devices or Software as a Medical Device, including software verification and validation.
- Preferred experience with wearable, Bluetooth, or sensor-connected devices; small language models running on-device; IEC 62304; and privacy-preserving techniques such as federated learning.
