Senior kdb+ Architect (Greenfield Project)

Responsibilities

Lead technical delivery on client projects and establish standards for quality and performance.
Design and implement kdb+ architectures for billions of rows of time-series data.
Build systems spanning real-time and historical market data ingestion, high-performance analytics, and downstream visualization.
Collaborate with quants, traders, and analysts to translate business requirements into performant code.
Own the full development lifecycle, including development, testing, support, and maintenance of client applications.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers.
Drive innovation in kdb+, q, and adjacent technologies.

5+ years of hands-on kdb+ development with deep expertise in q and time-series data.
Proven experience designing, implementing, and scaling kdb+ systems in production.
Experience architecting both real-time and historical systems.
Strong background in Unix/Linux environments and scripting.
Demonstrated technical leadership and decision-making in fast-paced projects.
Experience in capital markets or investment banking.
Excellent communication skills for explaining complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Passion for clean, performant code and continuous improvement.
Preferred: experience with Python, AWS, GCP, Azure, or other time-series databases.
Preferred: exposure to tick data, real-time analytics, or electronic trading systems.
Preferred: people management or team leadership experience.
