
Senior kdb+ Architect (Greenfield Project)

Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery on client projects and establish standards for quality and performance.
- Design and implement kdb+ architectures for billions of rows of time-series data.
- Build systems spanning real-time and historical market data ingestion, high-performance analytics, and downstream visualization.
- Collaborate with quants, traders, and analysts to translate business requirements into performant code.
- Own the full development lifecycle, including development, testing, support, and maintenance of client applications.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers.
- Drive innovation in kdb+, q, and adjacent technologies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on kdb+ development with deep expertise in q and time-series data.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and scaling kdb+ systems in production.
- Experience architecting both real-time and historical systems.
- Strong background in Unix/Linux environments and scripting.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and decision-making in fast-paced projects.
- Experience in capital markets or investment banking.
- Excellent communication skills for explaining complex systems to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Passion for clean, performant code and continuous improvement.
- Preferred: experience with Python, AWS, GCP, Azure, or other time-series databases.
- Preferred: exposure to tick data, real-time analytics, or electronic trading systems.
- Preferred: people management or team leadership experience.
