Responsibilities
- Support the enterprise GCP platform, including organization structure, resource hierarchy, billing, networking, IAM, encryption, service controls, and centralized logging.
- Design, implement, and maintain GCP landing zones, Shared VPC and project factory patterns, organization policies, governance guardrails, and infrastructure standards using Terraform and Config Connector.
- Design enterprise GCP networking with Shared VPC, Network Connectivity Center, VPC Service Controls, Private Service Connect, Cloud NAT, Cloud Interconnect, and HA VPN.
- Deploy and support secure private GKE clusters using Workload Identity, Binary Authorization, Shielded Nodes, Config Sync, and least-privilege IAM.
- Build self-service platform capabilities, CI/CD automation, observability, secrets management, encryption lifecycle processes, and compliance controls.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide advanced support for platform and infrastructure incidents.
- Partner with architecture, security, networking, operations, and application teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
- Mentor engineers, participate in technical and security reviews, evaluate emerging cloud technologies, and contribute to platform strategy and roadmap planning.
- Support FinOps initiatives including cost allocation, budget monitoring, committed-use discounts, and rightsizing recommendations.
Requirements
- 7+ years of infrastructure or cloud engineering experience, including 5+ years of deep hands-on enterprise GCP experience.
- 5+ years owning a GCP organization, including resource hierarchy, billing, organizational policies, IAM, and multi-project governance.
- 5+ years of technical leadership as a Principal Engineer or Platform Owner for a major enterprise cloud initiative.
- 3+ years implementing cloud best practices and Well-Architected Framework principles.
- 6+ years of expertise across GCP compute, containers, networking, security, identity, data, messaging, infrastructure automation, and observability services.
- 1+ year implementing agentic AI solutions and building AI agents.
- Strong programming and scripting experience in Python and Go, with Bash required; PowerShell is a plus.
- Experience operating production platforms in regulated environments and familiarity with healthcare, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, or FedRAMP environments.
- Preferred certifications include Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate or Professional.
- Experience with Palo Alto VM-Series NGFW, F5 BIG-IP VE, Anthos, GKE Enterprise, Vertex AI, large language models, enterprise MLOps, advanced CI/CD runner infrastructure, and multi-OS build environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience; a high school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience is accepted.
