Responsibilities
- Support the operation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and safe rerunning of production data and ML pipelines.
- Perform data validation, sanity checks, numerical precision checks, and anomaly detection.
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines using Spark and PySpark.
- Contribute to data and AI solutions using Python, SQL, JSON, YAML, and Git.
- Implement and inspect pipelines on Azure and use notebooks to test logic and support model inputs.
- Use MLflow, Weights & Biases, and Databricks ML for model validation and analysis.
- Support CI/CD and DevOps practices for data and ML workloads.
- Interpret logs and basic alerts to support system observability.
- Apply secure data handling principles and comply with relevant constraints.
- Collaborate with backend, platform, and AI engineers in distributed, cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a comparable technical field.
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
- Required experience with Git, notebooks such as Synapse, data validation or sanity checks, and SQL.
- Basic experience with Python and understanding of ML/AI concepts.
- Exposure to data or AI environments through academic, internship, or early professional experience.
- Familiarity with Azure services including Synapse, Data Lake, and Databricks.
- Awareness of monitoring concepts such as logs and alerts.
- Professional English at C1 level in spoken and written communication.
- French or Dutch is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and distributed teams.
- Structured approach to incident and problem management, workload prioritization, ownership, and accountability.
- Must own a valid work permit or EU/Schengen nationality to legally work in Portugal.
