Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team responsible for NPC community and behavior technology.
- Design, implement, optimize, and maintain NPC behavior systems.
- Collaborate with game designers, animators, writers, engineers, QA, production, and other specialists.
- Define technical scope, timelines, priorities, and technical standards.
- Debug, profile, and resolve technical challenges across large-scale systems.
- Conduct code reviews and maintain clean, modular, maintainable code.
- Support rapid prototyping, R&D, and testing of new technologies and ideas.
- Develop gameplay technology for CD PROJEKT RED’s new Project Hadar IP.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience developing NPC behavior systems in AA/AAA projects.
- Proven experience leading a development team.
- Experience successfully shipping at least one game.
- Expertise in C++ coding principles and practices.
- Strong communication, team leadership, risk management, and team development experience.
- Fluent English proficiency in written and spoken communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively, provide constructive feedback, and stay current with industry trends.
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4 or 5 is preferred.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and familiarity with agile ways of working are valued.
