Responsibilities
- Create software and firmware test plans with requirements traceability and test coverage.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated software and firmware test suites for functional, integration, and system validation.
- Perform manual testing of Qualcomm hardware and software installation and deployment where appropriate.
- Support quality and release engineering processes, including continuous integration and continuous deployment.
- Validate production-level software readiness through customer use cases, workload analysis, workload creation, and platform bring-up and debugging.
- Evaluate operating system and customer usage environments for functionality, power, and performance.
- Design, develop, modify, and validate embedded and cloud-edge software and utility programs.
- Lead or participate in design, coding, unit testing, debugging, integration, code reviews, regression testing, and issue triage.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, architecture, and test engineering teams and provide technical documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 4+ years of related experience; or a master's degree plus 3+ years; or a PhD plus 2+ years.
- At least 2 years of work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of software or firmware validation experience and at least 5 years of software test engineering focused on data center servers.
- Strong experience with software and firmware test automation, server platform validation, and automated test case development.
- Experience with Ubuntu Server, RHEL, SUSE, similar operating systems, or Windows Server.
- Experience validating requirements and features at component, integration, functional, and system levels.
- Experience with software/firmware integration involving BIOS/UEFI, BMC firmware, and operating systems for x86, ARM64, or RISC-V 64-bit server platforms is preferred.
- Strong understanding of server firmware standards, open-source implementations, and specifications for ARM64-based servers.
