Responsibilities
- Create software and firmware test plans covering requirements traceability and feature-level test coverage.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated software and firmware test suites at functional, integration, and system levels.
- Perform manual testing of Qualcomm hardware and software installation and deployment in mobile, compute, and automotive environments.
- Help establish quality and release engineering processes emphasizing continuous integration and continuous deployment.
- Support production-level software readiness through customer use cases, workload analysis, workload creation, bring-up, debugging, and diagnostics.
- Validate operating-system and customer usage environments while identifying power and performance enhancements.
- Lead or participate in design, coding, unit testing, debugging, integration, code reviews, regression testing, issue triage, and defect resolution.
- Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers and provide technical guidance to other team members.
- Write detailed technical documentation for complex software projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 4+ years of software engineering or related experience; or a master's degree plus 3+ years; or a PhD plus 2+ years.
- At least 2 years of experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred: 8+ years of software or firmware validation experience.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of software test engineering experience focused on data-center servers.
- Strong understanding of software and firmware test automation techniques.
- Experience with Ubuntu Server, RHEL, SUSE, similar operating systems, or Windows Server.
- Strong C or Python programming skills and experience developing automated test cases for server platforms.
- Experience supporting server-platform bring-up and production software releases.
- Preferred experience integrating BIOS/UEFI, BMC firmware, and operating systems for x86, ARM64, or RISC-V 64-bit server platforms.
- Strong understanding of server firmware standards, open-source implementations, and specifications for ARM64-based servers.
- Ability to work independently, make significant decisions, solve complex problems, and guide other team members.
