Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze requirements, perform use-case analysis, prototype devices and applications, and engage with customers or customer liaisons.
- Plan projects, estimate tasks, collect software metrics, and manage source-code version control.
- Design, program, debug, review, tune, integrate, document, and test firmware and software applications.
- Perform unit, bench, system integration, and field testing.
- Support hardware development and testing and contribute as a team member or lead engineer.
- Create program commentary, user guides, and service and troubleshooting documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, with strong emphasis on software.
- At least 5 years of experience in a firmware development role.
- At least 3 years of experience using C or C++.
- Expertise with C++, C, JavaScript, Python, device drivers, networking, serial communications, RTOS, and bare-metal development.
- Experience with IP networking, serial communications, protocols, ARM, x86, and SoC platforms.
- Familiarity with CodeWarrior, Visual Studio, Git, CMake, GNU Compiler, GDB, IAR/Keil Compilers, and ARM JTAG/SWD debugging.
- Preferred experience includes embedded control applications, PLC programming, HVAC, and CI/CD pipeline development.
