Responsibilities
- Build and own application golden paths and the Internal Developer Platform for self-service provisioning.
- Drive progressive delivery with Flux and establish Kubernetes standards, tooling, RBAC, and product engineering CRDs.
- Define standards and automated validation for configuration, variables, and secrets.
- Lead service autodiscovery, dependency mapping, and health-check standards in partnership with SRE.
- Measure developer experience through metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, onboarding time, and developer feedback.
- Mentor engineers, review designs and code, document solutions, and work directly with product engineering teams to remove friction.
- Help set team direction, prioritize the developer platform roadmap, and drive adoption across services.
Requirements
- Significant experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or developer tooling, including building platforms used by other engineers.
- Experience designing and rolling out golden paths, paved roads, or self-service platforms and achieving adoption.
- Deep CI/CD experience at scale with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy, or similar tools.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes and Docker experience, including establishing deployment standards.
- Experience with GitOps and progressive delivery using Flux, Argo CD, Flagger, or similar tools.
- Strong infrastructure and platform coding skills with tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency in Go, C#, Python, or PowerShell and experience building tools for developers.
- Understanding of how application teams build software, ideally including .NET experience.
- Product mindset with the ability to engage users, measure outcomes, and prioritize based on evidence.
- Ability to influence across teams, communicate trade-offs clearly, mentor engineers, and raise team standards.
- Willingness to work closely with product teams in the office.
