Base Salary
$197k - $345k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build enterprise security and compliance features for Slack.
- Own and improve core systems such as SSO, SCIM, and EKM architecture.
- Write high-quality, scalable, performant, maintainable code and contribute to architecture decisions.
- Assist support and operations teams with production issue triage and resolution.
- Mentor engineers, conduct deep code reviews, and improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, support staff, and fellow engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience building web applications.
- Proficiency in functional or imperative programming languages such as PHP, Java, Python, Ruby, Go, or C.
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
- Ability to drive technical decisions, participate in architecture discussions, and write understandable, testable, maintainable code.
- Strong communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support staff, and engineers.
- A related technical degree is required.

- The position has a typical base salary range of $197,300–$313,700 annually, or $237,700–$344,700 annually in select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas; bonus, equity, and benefits are excluded from these ranges.
