Base Salary
$144k - $194k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable, low-latency, highly available services that power Sub-Same-Day delivery promises.
- Own features through requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing production operations.
- Lead design discussions and independently align with partner teams across Promise, transportation, search, ATROPS, and DEX.
- Maintain operational excellence through monitoring, alarming, on-call support, defect reduction, and ticket reduction.
- Investigate edge cases and support testing, canary deployments, metrics, dashboards, and safe production rollouts.
- Identify and mitigate risks while clearly communicating progress, blockers, and tradeoffs.
- Mentor SDE-1s and junior engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and technical guidance.
- Contribute to the team’s technical roadmap and continuous improvement of delivery systems.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
- At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
- At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience programming in at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
