Responsibilities
- Drive strategic programs of work, including proof-of-concept development, and provide technical strategy, governance, and guidance across the solution delivery lifecycle.
- Lead complex engineering initiatives and ensure solutions align with approved frameworks, industry standards, and business and technology strategies.
- Improve engineering processes, develop strategic practices, adopt new tools and technologies, and contribute to internal engineering knowledge.
- Provide technical leadership and consultancy across projects, platforms, and delivery teams, including ownership of technical assets, roadmaps, and strategic direction.
- Mentor and upskill engineers across squads and lead teams through complex troubleshooting and technical challenges.
- Support reliable system, product, and platform operations, including on-call participation and ownership of critical issue resolution.
Requirements
- 11–14 years of experience delivering Java solutions in complex enterprise environments, ideally in banking or financial services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, along with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and integrating REST and SOAP APIs using OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, Octopus, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Observe, and AWS CloudWatch.
- Sound knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, microservices, and REST API integration.
- Demonstrated experience applying application and system security practices in multitenant environments.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning, LLMs, GenAI tools and agents such as Cline, Roo Code, Cursor, and AWS Bedrock is desired.
- Experience with BIAN architecture is desired.
- Secondary frontend experience with React.js and Next.js is useful.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
