Responsibilities
- Build, customize, and maintain high-performing Shopify storefronts and e-commerce experiences.
- Develop front-end and back-end functionality, Shopify themes, and integrations with third-party shipping, tracking, payment, and e-commerce platforms.
- Support and troubleshoot production e-commerce sites independently.
- Translate business requirements into technical scope and communicate, diagram, and document engineering concepts.
- Contribute to UI/UX improvements, e-commerce conversion optimization, and customer experience initiatives.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a full-stack developer or in combined front-end/back-end web development roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Shopify storefront development, Shopify Liquid, Shopify theme architecture, and Shopify APIs/Admin API.
- Proficiency with HTML, CSS/SCSS, and JavaScript, plus responsive and mobile-first development.
- Back-end development experience with at least one of Node.js, Python, Ruby, or PHP.
- Experience integrating third-party platforms through APIs, particularly for shipping, tracking, payments, or e-commerce.
- Understanding of online payment processing, tokenization, credit card handling, and PCI compliance considerations.
- Strong UI/UX and e-commerce conversion understanding, problem-solving skills, communication skills, and ability to work independently.
- Direct experience with PaySafe or comparable processors such as Stripe, Braintree, or Authorize.net is preferred.
- Experience with AfterShip or similar shipment-tracking platforms, GA4, Shopify Analytics, heatmaps, Git, and basic CI/CD practices is preferred.
- Experience supporting a small business or startup as the sole or lead technical resource, or in travel, logistics, shipping, or golf/sporting goods e-commerce, is preferred.
