Staff Engineer, Operations Technology
HelloFreshResponsibilities
- Design, build, and own robust, scalable infrastructure for menu operations.
- Drive successful xPS migration efforts in the US market.
- Translate Food Systems business requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Define and promote best practices for model serving, APIs, and system design across squads.
- Lead cross-squad technical initiatives from architecture decisions through hands-on implementation.
- Partner with internal engineering teams to ensure production services are performant, observable, and maintainable.
- Contribute to tribe-wide engineering standards and the technical roadmap.
- Mentor and support engineers across squads without direct line-management responsibility.
Requirements
- 8+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong foundation in Python, Kotlin, and GoLang.
- Experience making architectural decisions for large-scale distributed systems and integrations with applications and user interfaces.
- Advanced experience with Docker, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and production operations at scale.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and microservices architecture.
- Track record of delivering complex cross-functional projects across team boundaries.
- Meaningful experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot in regular workflows.
- Strong technical judgment and a collaborative, low-ego approach.
