Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, debug, and troubleshoot secure Android software solutions.
- Lead technical delivery and coach junior software engineers.
- Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications and ensure implementation meets design constraints.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools for coding, code review, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis while enforcing validation and security standards.
- Identify and automate recurring issue remediation to improve application and system stability.
- Analyze large and diverse datasets and develop visualizations and reporting to drive application and architecture improvements.
- Consider upstream and downstream system impacts when designing and implementing software.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, operational stability, and the full Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining software in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Strong Android development experience with Kotlin, Java, Android Jetpack, Kotlin Coroutines, RESTful API integration, RxJava, LiveData, and/or StateFlow.
- Experience with unit testing and UI test automation using Mockito, JUnit, and Gherkin scripts.
- Experience with dependency injection tools such as Dagger and Hilt.
- Experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
- Understanding of responsible AI engineering practices, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred experience with Android ecosystem development, mobile UI fundamentals, SOLID principles, and MVP, MVI, and MVVM architectural patterns.
