Base Salary
$178k - $313k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate ads delivery infrastructure, services, and critical serving-time business logic.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, ML, and Infrastructure teams on scalable technical solutions from concept through launch and optimization.
- Design, test, debug, and maintain high-quality production systems using observability, experimentation, and automation.
- Improve distributed-system architecture, availability, scalability, operational excellence, security, and infrastructure efficiency.
- Investigate and resolve incidents or hotfixes and independently deliver medium-sized features over multiple weeks and pull requests.
- Use AI-assisted development tools while auditing generated output for architectural integrity, performance, and security.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent years of practical work experience.
- 6+ years of post-bachelor’s software development experience, or a technical master’s degree with 5+ years of post-graduate experience, or a relevant PhD with 2+ years of post-graduate experience.
- Experience with backend services and distributed systems, including operating highly available systems at significant scale.
- Experience with Java, C++, and/or Python.
- Experience with at least one of large-scale microservices, cloud computing and storage, infrastructure design, security, networking and data storage, machine learning and natural language processing, or tools.
- Experience with NoSQL solutions, Memcache or Redis, Kubernetes, or Google/AWS services.
- Preferred experience building ad delivery, recommendation, marketplace auction, search, retrieval, or other high-throughput online serving systems.
- Preferred familiarity with ad serving, targeting, frequency capping, auctions, bidding, pacing, or campaign optimization.
- Preferred experience supporting shared backend platforms, improving system efficiency and infrastructure cost-performance, and using AI-assisted development tools.

- United States base salary ranges vary by pay zone: $178,000-$266,000 in Zone C, $199,000-$297,000 in Zone B, and $209,000-$313,000 in Zone A.
