Responsibilities
- Partner with PMs and engineers to build backend support for cloud database service products.
- Design and develop core database system functionalities and related tools.
- Conduct performance and scalability tests and research improvements.
- Design and implement unit, functional, and system tests.
- Participate in release and deployment processes.
- Debug issues, conduct root cause analysis, and diagnose defects.
- Solve complex, large-scale cloud infrastructure problems.
- Participate in the on-call rotation to maintain service availability.
Requirements
- Experience with query processing, including query execution and optimization, transaction management, storage management, and backup and restore.
- Experience building large-scale, high-performance database platforms.
- Experience with storage systems and distributed systems.
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, Go, or Java.
- Knowledge of Linux shell and scripting languages such as Python.
- At least 3 years of industry experience in systems or database internals programming.
- MySQL or PostgreSQL software development experience is a plus.
- A BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Expertise in the software engineering lifecycle through internships, work experience, coding competitions, or publications.
