Base Salary

$114k - $152k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of foundational software for mobile robotic systems within a globally distributed team serving the Americas region.
  • Architect and develop core C++ software for embedded onboard systems, simulation, and deployment.
  • Develop robust tools and frameworks for internal teams and robotic platforms.
  • Drive technical direction for code structure, system design, performance optimization, and software scalability.
  • Collaborate with robotics, cloud, and systems teams on multifunctional initiatives.
  • Mentor and review the work of junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Define engineering best practices and contribute to the technical roadmap.
  • Support perception, configuration, system integration, hardware/software interfacing, and deployment activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in C++ software engineering and robotics.
  • Deep expertise in modern C++ including C++17/20, STL, memory management, and performance tuning.
  • Strong background in software architecture and large codebases.
  • Experience with multithreaded, distributed, or real-time systems.
  • Track record of mentoring, team leadership, or technical ownership.
  • Strong understanding of Linux, debugging, and profiling tools.
  • Ability to work across C++, Python/Bash scripting, and integration tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS, ROS2, or other robotics frameworks.
  • Experience in autonomous systems, robotics, or embedded environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with DDS, ZeroMQ, gRPC, containerization, and orchestration tools is preferred.
  • Experience with system integration, hardware/software interfacing, or deployment pipelines is preferred.
  • Experience in research and development environments and strong mathematical knowledge, including optimization and polynomials, are preferred.
  • A Ph.D. or equivalent experience in research or innovation is a plus.
