Base Salary
$162k - $220k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain core Workflow Platform infrastructure using Temporal, Netflix Conductor, and distributed workflow orchestration systems.
- Architect and deliver highly scalable, resilient, and high-performance platform services.
- Benchmark and optimize platform reliability, throughput, latency, and performance using collected metrics and published results.
- Maintain platform availability and operational excellence through observability, monitoring, alerting, incident management, and 99.995% uptime objectives.
- Estimate, provision, and scale infrastructure capacity while optimizing performance and cost efficiency.
- Develop and operate mission-critical backend services and distributed systems in AWS using Java and Spring Framework.
- Investigate complex system issues, identify root causes, implement preventive measures, and improve operational excellence.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to build extensible platform capabilities and deliver scalable solutions.
- Lead, coach, and develop software engineers and guide architecture, implementation, and delivery discussions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of total experience.
- Experience designing, building, deploying, and maintaining distributed workflow orchestration or platform infrastructure.
- Experience developing and operating backend services and distributed systems in AWS using Java and Spring Framework.
- Ability to architect scalable, resilient, and high-performance services and optimize reliability, throughput, latency, performance, and cost.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, alerting, incident management, root-cause analysis, and operational excellence.
- Ability to lead technical design discussions, collaborate with stakeholders, and guide engineering teams through delivery.
- Preferred experience leading, coaching, and developing software engineers.
- Preferred knowledge of Agile software engineering practices, coding standards, code reviews, testing, CI/CD processes, and live-site operations.
