Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software development for autonomous maritime vehicles using ROS2.
  • Implement and test navigation, control, and sensor-processing algorithms for unmanned surface vehicles.
  • Integrate software components and new functionality collaboratively within the team.
  • Participate in testing and validation of the developed software on real systems and research-ship test campaigns.

Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with at least 12 months of study remaining.
  • Have experience developing mechatronics or robotics applications in C++ or Python using ROS2 or ROS1.
  • Understand the basic dynamics of mobile robots and their navigation and control algorithms.
  • Interest in single-board computers, microcontrollers, and sensors; prior experience with Raspberry Pi or Arduino is welcome but not required.
  • Have good communication and language skills in English and/or German.
