Principal Engineer, Full Stack

Responsibilities
- Design and develop full-stack Java and React applications, including responsive React/TypeScript front ends, APIs, microservices, and micro-frontends.
- Develop and maintain Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native systems, and infrastructure using GitOps practices and ArgoCD.
- Design monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, OpenTelemetry, Istio, and Kiali.
- Manage cloud infrastructure through Kubernetes with Crossplane and support service mesh traffic management.
- Write technical specifications, participate in software and reliability design activities, and analyze system requirements.
- Develop or review automated unit, component, and scenario testing protocols and troubleshoot failures in test and production environments.
- Mentor or guide less experienced software and site reliability engineers and remain current with web development and DevOps practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- At least 10 years of software engineering or site reliability engineering experience.
- Experience with Java or React development, Kubernetes, cloud-native technologies, React with TypeScript, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred experience with ArgoCD, Istio, Envoy, Jaeger, Prometheus, Grafana, AWS, OpenShift, RESTful services, microservices, PostgreSQL databases, PL/SQL, observability frameworks, GitOps, Azure DevOps, TFS, Jira, Git, webpack, and automated testing.
- Familiarity with software development life cycle practices, Agile principles, Test-Driven Development, Behavior-Driven Development, and modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with comfort using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode.
