Base Salary

$150k - $175k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build, deploy, and maintain internal FastAPI APIs and backend services for portfolio analytics, market data, and quantitative outputs.
  • Own scheduled data pipelines and orchestration workflows using Prefect in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
  • Implement and operate AI capabilities involving LLM APIs, MCP servers, agentic workflows, and multi-model architectures.
  • Build and maintain a reusable, documented, model-agnostic AI plugin and skills library for investment professionals.
  • Develop and own PostgreSQL databases supporting research, portfolio, and operational workflows.
  • Contribute to engineering practices including version control, CI/CD pipelines, testing, documentation, and firmwide best practices.
  • Work directly with quant researchers, investment professionals, COO management, and central Technology teams to identify, scope, deliver, and maintain practical solutions.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in quantitative development, development strategy, analytics engineering, quantitative analysis, or a relevant role at a financial institution or data provider.
  • Strong Python proficiency, object-oriented software development skills, SQL knowledge, and PostgreSQL database design experience.
  • Production experience building and deploying backend services and APIs with FastAPI or an equivalent framework.
  • Hands-on experience integrating AI and LLM systems across multiple model providers, including API usage, prompt engineering, tool use, and retrieval-augmented workflows.
  • Practical familiarity with MCP servers, agentic frameworks, or multi-model orchestration architectures.
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools.
  • Experience with AWS, EC2, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tooling, and workflow orchestration frameworks such as Prefect or Airflow.
  • Sound software engineering fundamentals including version control, CI/CD, structured codebases, documentation, and testing.
  • Preferred experience building Streamlit or React interfaces, integrating alternative data or vendor APIs, or working at a hedge fund or multi-manager platform.
  • Interest in financial markets and the investment process, along with the ability to work proactively and collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
