Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership, coach a distributed engineering team, and align teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines.
- Collaborate with Unity, Unreal, and game studios to optimize engine runtime architecture, frame scheduling, render graph pipelines, shader compilation, and memory allocators.
- Develop diagnostic tools, automated regression detection, and optimization playbooks for game developers.
- Partner with platform rendering and graphics teams, including Choreographer, to investigate and eliminate jank, frame deadline misses, and compositor bottlenecks.
- Build memory instrumentation, profiling tools, and memory budget frameworks to prevent out-of-memory crashes, paging stalls, and background app evictions.
- Comply with company health and safety policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience programming in one or more languages such as C++, C#, or Rust.
- Five years of experience testing and launching software products.
- Three years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: three years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Preferred: experience with game engine architecture and runtime performance, including Unity, Unreal Engine, Godot, or custom engines.
- Preferred: experience with modern graphics APIs or GPU rendering pipelines.
- Preferred: experience with performance profiling and tracing tools.
- Preferred: experience integrating generative AI tools or LLM interfaces into workflows.

- Romania-based compensation includes RON 500,000–515,000, a 20% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
