Responsibilities
- Support production, development, staging, and load-test database environments and perform DBA-related stability tasks.
- Design, build, scale, deploy, upgrade, monitor, and tune database solutions.
- Support scheduled releases and implement zero-downtime database deployments.
- Perform database performance analysis, load testing, SQL tuning, indexing, partitioning, and operating-system optimization.
- Support Oracle-to-PostgreSQL data migrations and other physical or logical migration initiatives.
- Develop complex queries, data extracts, bespoke reports, and database process automation.
- Identify and implement improvements across database and development processes.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar database-focused role; candidates with less experience may also be considered.
- Hands-on production database experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
- Strong SQL skills, including PL/SQL and shell scripting.
- Experience with reporting, complex querying, data extracts, performance troubleshooting, and database monitoring tools.
- Understanding of zero-downtime database deployments.
- Strong logical and analytical thinking, attention to detail, prioritization, communication, collaboration, and initiative.
- Confident day-to-day English communication.
- Experience with other databases, RMAN, and Data Guard is preferred.
