Responsibilities
- Collaborate with experimental scientists to understand requirements for quantum-control experiments.
- Interface with orchestration, non-real-time control, and compiler teams to integrate the runtime software architecture.
- Implement drivers for real-time devices and develop abstractions over real-time control hardware.
- Develop the execution environment for user programs running on quantum systems.
- Produce tooling that enables rapid and reliable iteration by internal users.
- Continually improve internal APIs and contribute to the core execution model of IonQ’s quantum computers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expert programming ability in a systems programming language and strong programming skills in one or more mainstream languages.
- Experience with systems programming and an interest in or experience with Rust.
- Ability to produce high-quality code appropriate for real-time environments, including effective code reviews and testing.
- Strong communication skills across software and scientific disciplines.
- Comfort working with rapidly evolving requirements and a desire to learn, iterate quickly, and improve continuously.
