Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain tools that make systems operationally efficient, resilient, and easier to manage.
- Build automation and orchestration solutions that reduce manual activity and operational toil.
- Write and contribute to code for service reliability and observability, including telemetry, operational APIs, and tooling.
- Create dashboards using telemetry data and technologies such as Grafana, Splunk, and New Relic.
- Participate in live incident resolution and post-mortem analysis, and provide remediation strategies to improve system health.
- Drive reliability and observability improvements across the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain and administer monitoring and analytics toolsets.
- Mentor colleagues on new technologies and practices.
- Work with IT Operations to support critical tooling and increasing business value.
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of programming languages including Python, Golang, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge and experience with modern software development techniques and lifecycles.
- Excellent knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including creating and managing Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives.
- Knowledge and experience with contemporary observability tools and practices, including Splunk, New Relic, Grafana, and PagerDuty.
- Proficiency in shell scripting for automation and system management.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and orchestration tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience working in a large-scale, 24/7 enterprise where uptime and stability are critical.
- Hands-on experience using LLM platforms and coding assistants to improve engineering productivity and quality.
- Ability to integrate AI-driven telemetry for advanced observability, predictive insights, and root-cause analysis.
