Responsibilities
- Develop backend applications and services using Java for business-critical healthcare workflows.
- Build and maintain scalable microservices integrating with internal platforms and dependent systems.
- Implement reliable and maintainable cloud-based solutions on AWS.
- Create and enhance RESTful APIs and service integrations for high-volume transactional workflows.
- Troubleshoot application and service issues, identify root causes, and deliver stability improvements.
- Optimize application performance and service interactions for scalability and operational efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and estimation.
- Support deployments, release validation, post-release monitoring, and improvements to CI/CD workflows.
- Improve monitoring and alerting and collaborate with adjacent teams on API contracts and dependencies.
- Document technical designs and share knowledge through walkthroughs and collaborative problem solving.
- Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and reduce manual effort through automation.
- Use AI tools where appropriate to improve day-to-day engineering productivity while reviewing outputs carefully.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of software engineering experience in backend development, distributed systems, or related application development.
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications with Java.
- Experience developing or supporting microservices and service-based architectures.
- Working knowledge of AWS and cloud application deployment concepts.
- Experience building or consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with distributed systems.
- Understanding of object-oriented design, testing, debugging, version control, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to analyze technical issues, communicate clearly, and contribute practical solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
