Base Salary
$57k - $159k/yr
Responsibilities
- Participate in solution design for a wide range of business needs.
- Translate business requirements into technical requirements and create design documents and technical specifications.
- Develop and implement data design models for enterprise-level applications.
- Administer PostgreSQL and SQL Server, including instance builds, backups, scripting, administration, and database maintenance.
- Provide post-implementation support by monitoring application performance and debugging existing code.
- Perform database performance tuning and index maintenance.
- Support the team’s on-call rotation.
- Keep current with technology advancements and identify how new technologies can support business solutions.
- Follow technology and security best practices and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification focused on Microsoft Database technologies.
- Experience working as a DBA.
- Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL Server.
- Strong PostgreSQL and SQL Server administration skills, including instance builds, backups, scripting, administration, and database maintenance.
- Ability to develop and implement data design models for enterprise-level applications.
- Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle; exposure to agile or iterative delivery approaches is preferred.
- Familiarity with clustered environments.
- Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to provide primary and alternate solutions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Knowledge of NIST compliance is strongly desired.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position because foreign-national security-clearance applications are not being accepted or processed.
