Responsibilities

  • Research, maintain, enhance, document, and test weather system software and project components.
  • Provide software development support using C, C++, Python, and related tools.
  • Develop software solutions for configuring and interfacing with system devices and hardware.
  • Support lab operations through maintenance, software development, and hardware integration activities.
  • Draft, review, edit, and coordinate technical reports and drawings for approval.
  • Support government-directed weather system modernization and enhancement efforts.
  • Conduct market research and assess requirements for replacing end-of-life hardware.
  • Identify operational needs and drive major process improvements.
  • Provide technical support, conduct reviews and audits, and troubleshoot complex systems.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field from a U.S.-accredited institution.
  • Completed a minimum of 48 STEM-related courses.
  • Knowledge of software testing throughout all phases of the software development process.
  • Proficiency with UNIX, AIX, or Linux operating systems and the ability to debug complex systems and conduct reviews, audits, and testing.
  • Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink simulation tools.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, and Python for model and tool development.
  • Experience authoring technical documentation and providing technical support.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, multitask across teams, research and solve problems, learn new technologies, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, have resided in the United States for three consecutive years, and possess a Real ID driver’s license/ID or current U.S. passport to obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
  • Must reside or be willing to relocate within commuting distance of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
