Base Salary
$245k - $335k/yr
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support foundation model training, LLM inference, agents, multi-agent workflows, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability components.
- Invent and apply foundation-model optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization.
- Set technical direction and long-term architecture standards for enterprise AI systems, including tooling, observability, deployment, governance, and evaluation.
- Own model routing, caching, and orchestration systems for hybrid and multi-model workloads.
- Champion responsible AI principles including transparency, reproducibility, and fairness-by-design.
- Lead internal education, mentorship, architecture councils, and AI guilds.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least 8 years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master’s degree in one of these fields plus at least 6 years of such experience.
- At least 8 years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java.
- Experience designing AI systems with cost, latency, throughput, and accuracy tradeoffs.
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud.
- Experience architecting, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
- Experience leading and mentoring multiple engineering teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level.
- Experience with LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, memory, agentic AI systems, and agentic workflows.
- Experience optimizing training and inference software and right-sizing models, instances, and hardware.
- Experience defining enterprise AI architecture standards, data pipeline governance, observability, evaluation frameworks, multi-cloud strategies, research-to-production processes, and AI north-star metrics.
- Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to apply current AI research techniques in production.
