Sr Software Architect - AI/ML
GE VernovaResponsibilities
- Design, publish, and maintain enterprise AI reference architectures and reusable solution patterns for agentic workflows, RAG systems, forecasting, computer vision, and other AI use cases.
- Define AI solution design practices, architecture decision records, documentation standards, validation procedures, and architecture review checkpoints.
- Integrate AI-assisted workflows into Services standard work, quality management systems, training materials, and validation processes.
- Define MLOps, LLMOps, AI toolchain, model lifecycle, deployment, monitoring, drift detection, and retraining standards.
- Partner with Digital/IT, ARC Foundry, enterprise platform teams, and governance stakeholders on AI platforms, integrations, model risk, cybersecurity, data integrity, and auditability.
- Review subsystem AI designs for scalability, security, maintainability, reuse, integration complexity, and alignment with enterprise standards.
- Mentor AI Architects and develop technical competency expectations, development pathways, forums, and knowledge-sharing practices.
- Serve as senior technical authority for complex, high-risk, novel, and cross-subsystem AI initiatives, including platform and vendor evaluations.
Requirements
- 15+ years of strong hands-on software development, technical architecture, and large-scale enterprise systems experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in services, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- Proven expertise with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn, plus generative AI technologies including LLMs, SLMs, diffusion models, and GANs.
- Significant hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying AI or machine learning solutions in complex technical environments, with progression to enterprise-level architecture responsibilities.
- Deep knowledge of supervised learning, deep learning, time-series analysis, generative AI, agentic workflows, and physics-informed modeling.
- Experience defining technical standards, reference architectures, and design practices across an AI solution portfolio.
- Familiarity with MLOps platforms, AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud AI infrastructure, model serving frameworks, and enterprise data platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, business-outcome orientation, stakeholder partnership, and experience working with globally distributed teams.
- Practical experience applying AI to Services contexts such as design automation, simulation acceleration, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, or AI-assisted validation.
- Familiarity with n8n, LangGraph, or CrewAI and experience designing multi-agent workflow architectures.
- Experience mentoring and developing AI talent across distributed or matrixed organizations.
