Responsibilities
- Provide production support for distributed cache clusters and Java application integrations.
- Monitor cluster health, partition distribution, memory, latency, throughput, capacity, and performance.
- Troubleshoot distributed maps, Near Cache, eviction and expiry/TTL, partitioning, backup and replication, serialization, and cluster discovery.
- Diagnose cache incidents including high latency, memory pressure, member restarts, split-brain conditions, data inconsistency, and degraded performance.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and vendor support teams to investigate issues and drive technical resolution.
- Review and modify Java and Spring Boot code to onboard application use cases to the distributed-cache platform.
- Assess application data models, access patterns, expected load, and caching objectives.
- Implement and validate application-side cache integration changes.
- Troubleshoot JVM and application issues during onboarding, integration testing, and production stabilization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in Java backend development, Java application support, distributed systems, or closely related engineering work.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with distributed caching or in-memory data grid technologies used with Java applications.
- Strong hands-on Java development experience and ability to write and modify Java code.
- Strong JVM troubleshooting skills, including memory management, garbage collection, thread dumps, heap analysis, and performance diagnosis.
- Hands-on Spring Boot development or application-support experience involving cache integration or use-case onboarding.
- Hands-on experience with Hazelcast, Redis/Redis Cluster, Apache Ignite, or a comparable distributed-cache or in-memory data-grid platform.
- Strong understanding of distributed maps, Near Cache, eviction/expiry/TTL, partitioning, backup/replication, split-brain, serialization, and cluster discovery.
- Production application support in banking, telecom, or another mission-critical environment is preferred.
- Basic support-level exposure to Kubernetes, containers, Linux, networking, Anthos, or OpenShift is preferred.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and deployment-pipeline troubleshooting is preferred.
- Experience with Splunk, AppDynamics, or Hazelcast Management Center and basic TLS/mTLS and certificate troubleshooting is preferred.
