Responsibilities
- Build and maintain scalable Java back-end services and shared platform capabilities for Apple Commerce.
- Design and implement user-facing features and reusable components across scenarios, domains, regions, iPhone, Mac, and Web.
- Develop systems emphasizing transactional integrity, scalability, availability, fault tolerance, and security.
- Make sound technical decisions, take ownership, set direction, and translate complex requirements into maintainable systems.
- Rapidly resolve customer issues and support debugging, diagnostics, incident response, and performance troubleshooting.
- Implement and support automated integration, load, and end-to-end testing.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of software engineering experience implementing and maintaining critical systems at scale.
- Strong analytical problem-solving, debugging, and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with Java.
- Experience with highly scalable applications, event-driven systems, and RESTful web services.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases and entity relationship modeling.
- Experience with load balancing, autoscaling, traffic shaping, distributed systems debugging, and incident response.
- Proficiency with observability tooling, metrics, logs, and performance troubleshooting.
- BS degree, preferably in Computer Science, or related experience.
- Ability to take ownership, set direction, and work effectively amid ambiguity.
