Responsibilities
- Develop software applications for a payload and ground software program.
- Digest requirements and changes into working designs and generate efficient code to specifications.
- Adapt software in response to bugs, specification updates, and customer needs.
- Develop applications on Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Integrate subsystems using interfaces, APIs, complex workflows, and data-driven design approaches.
- Report technical information to leads and customers while working independently and collaboratively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of software development experience, or a master’s degree.
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information access (TS/SCI).
- Experience developing applications on Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Exposure to Agile principles and Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Basic understanding of asynchronous messaging systems such as NATS, ActiveMQ, or gRPC.
- Working knowledge of one or more server-side languages, including Python, C++, Node.js, Go, or Java.
- Familiarity with data-driven system integration and strong knowledge of integration best practices.
- Preferred experience with satellite ground-system mission management and control software.
- Preferred experience developing secure or reliable code, including unit testing, code coverage, SonarQube scans, and Fortify.
- Preferred proficiency with container-based applications and with C++ and Python.
- Preferred experience implementing data-centric software designs, data schemas, and data-format translation.
