Responsibilities
- Investigate issues across software applications and supporting systems.
- Contribute to the development, implementation, maintenance, architecture, and design of software solutions.
- Support change, configuration, and release management activities.
- Identify and help manage technical risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Formal Test, project management, and technical leaders.
- Develop software test plans and support test execution.
- Produce technical documentation, reports, and supporting artefacts.
- Follow established engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
Requirements
- Experience of or interest in Unix/Linux operating systems.
- Experience of or interest in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, PL/SQL, HTML, or JavaScript.
- Experience of or interest in scripting languages such as Python, Bourne Shell, or Perl.
- Knowledge of virtualisation and cloud computing concepts.
- Knowledge of networking and communications protocols, particularly TCP/IP.
- Understanding of software engineering lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, development, testing, and maintenance.
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
