Responsibilities

  • Investigate issues across software applications and supporting systems.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, maintenance, architecture, and design of software solutions.
  • Support change, configuration, and release management activities.
  • Identify and help manage technical risks and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Formal Test, project management, and technical leaders.
  • Develop software test plans and support test execution.
  • Produce technical documentation, reports, and supporting artefacts.
  • Follow established engineering processes, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience of or interest in Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Experience of or interest in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, PL/SQL, HTML, or JavaScript.
  • Experience of or interest in scripting languages such as Python, Bourne Shell, or Perl.
  • Knowledge of virtualisation and cloud computing concepts.
  • Knowledge of networking and communications protocols, particularly TCP/IP.
  • Understanding of software engineering lifecycle activities, including requirements, design, development, testing, and maintenance.
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
