Responsibilities
- Build, test, deploy, troubleshoot, and enhance native mobile applications across the software development lifecycle.
- Develop mobile features and components using Android, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and related mobile architecture and testing practices.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, mobile developers, and stakeholders on technical design, estimation, delivery, and status communication.
- Use AI coding assistants and prompt engineering to improve development speed, quality, and collaboration while maintaining ownership of output quality.
- Implement unit and system tests, secure coding practices, performance improvements, and maintainable architectural solutions.
- Monitor application health using crash reporting, logs, metrics, dashboards, alerts, and other observability practices.
- Work with backend APIs, services, authentication patterns, data contracts, and error handling to troubleshoot integration issues.
- Participate in code reviews, document best practices, identify automation opportunities, and mentor less experienced teammates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and four years of related experience, or a master’s degree and two years of experience, a Ph.D. and up to one year of experience, or 16 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated experience building native mobile applications with Android, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, iOS, Swift, and/or SwiftUI.
- Working knowledge of backend services, REST APIs, authentication patterns, relational data models, and distributed-system integrations.
- Advanced, deliberate use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor across the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with modern mobile architecture patterns, platform development tools, testing frameworks, and performance optimization.
- Strong knowledge of logging, metrics, tracing, monitoring, and observability tools, including the ability to establish or improve observability practices.
- Fluency with Git workflows and the ability to guide others on branching, review, and collaborative development practices.
- Strong analytical, architectural, communication, problem-solving, and technical-influence skills.
