Responsibilities
- Build real-time telemetry systems for monitoring construction robots.
- Design core platform architecture and abstractions for construction operations.
- Prototype and deploy components communicating with robot microcontrollers and distributed subsystems.
- Write Rust and TypeScript software that converts high-level goals into executable robot actions.
- Debug cross-stack issues involving Chromium, WiFi, concurrent Rust code, and robot simulations.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, control engineers, and robot operators to improve platform experience, reliability, and performance.
Requirements
- Industry experience building and deploying production systems in multiple programming languages; Rust experience is valuable but not required.
- Basic familiarity with Linux systems and conventions, including using SSH to diagnose issues on other machines.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as UDP, TCP/IP, and WebSockets.
- Ability to own and drive problems and projects from start to finish in a chaotic environment.
- A demonstrated record of shipping impressive technical work; technical founder, CTO, or founding engineer experience is a potential fit.
- Strong computer science or mathematics foundation, including geometric reasoning, linear algebra, and 3D transformations.
- Ability to work with concurrent systems, investigate complex bugs, and use development tools effectively.
