Base Salary
$145k - $165k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the design, delivery, versioning, and evolution of the Bruin SDK and public APIs, including contracts, pagination, errors, authentication, rate limiting, and language-specific ergonomics.
- Own the Bruin developer portal as an engineering product, including guides, API references, code samples, playgrounds, changelogs, and documentation synchronization.
- Lead the Bruin Integration Marketplace, including its connector framework, certification model, secrets management, observability, access requests, onboarding, and foundational enterprise connectors.
- Apply reliable integration patterns for webhooks, retries, eventual consistency, schema evolution, idempotency, replay, and observability.
- Design integration experiences for AI agents and AI-native applications, including clear tool semantics and safe platform access.
- Collaborate directly with customer engineering teams and partners during marketplace onboarding and early-adopter programs.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code, conduct code reviews, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant SDK, public API, or platform engineering experience.
- A track record of shipping developer-facing SDKs, public APIs, or platform products at production scale.
- Strong proficiency in at least two modern programming languages; TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js are preferred, with familiarity across .NET, Python, Go, Ruby, or Java ecosystems.
- Experience designing developer-discoverable APIs and SDKs with predictable naming, strong type definitions, inline documentation, and IDE- and agent-friendly patterns.
- Experience building or substantially contributing to a developer portal or documentation site using docs-as-code, OpenAPI, generated SDKs, or similar approaches.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise integration concerns including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, webhooks, GraphQL, retries, idempotency, and schema versioning.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Copilot, or Cursor.
- Strong written communication for SDK documentation, API design documents, and customer-facing integration guides.
- Experience working directly with developers integrating against a product and incorporating their feedback.
- Preferred experience with AI-agent APIs, Model Context Protocol, function-calling patterns, iPaaS or B2B SaaS products, published SDKs, partner connector ecosystems, enterprise systems, telecom or MDM environments, developer advocacy, technical writing, or managed services.
Benefits
- The position is based in NYC/New York City, with compensation varying by U.S. geographic market.
- Base salary is $145,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually.
