Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend features in Java and frontend features in React.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to refine requirements and design scalable architectures and APIs.
- Build and consume RESTful services and integrate internal and third-party systems.
- Containerize applications with Docker and deploy and operate them on AWS cloud services.
- Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Improve application performance, reliability, security, and developer productivity while mentoring junior engineers when appropriate.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong Java backend development skills and experience building user interfaces with React, JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience with Docker, REST APIs, relational or NoSQL databases, Git, automated testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating across disciplines.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, production Kubernetes, application security, AWS services or certification, and observability tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, or Datadog.
