Responsibilities
- Build ingestion and transformation solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory.
- Develop reusable, configuration-driven pipelines supporting batch, incremental, API, file, database, and event-based integration patterns.
- Create curated data structures, dimensional models, and data warehouses supporting analytics, reporting, operational, and downstream application needs.
- Develop complex SQL queries, views, transformations, and data-processing logic.
- Perform query and pipeline performance tuning and troubleshoot data, integration, and processing issues.
- Identify and resolve data-quality, integrity, completeness, and consistency issues through validation and reconciliation.
- Use GitHub, Azure DevOps, pull requests, code reviews, and design reviews to manage engineering delivery.
- Monitor and support production data pipelines and scheduled workloads, including troubleshooting failures and missed schedules.
- Create maintainable, reusable, documented engineering patterns and supporting documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering, or a related field and three years of relevant IT experience, or seven total years of relevant IT experience.
- Professional experience developing enterprise data pipelines, integrations, data warehouses, Lakehouse solutions, or analytics data platforms.
- Strong SQL and relational database development experience.
- Strong understanding of data engineering, ETL/ELT, data ingestion and transformation patterns, validation, reconciliation, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake/Storage, Azure SQL/SQL Server, data warehousing, and dimensional or data modeling.
- Experience with Git/GitHub, pull-request-based development, Azure DevOps, and Agile delivery practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex data and integration problems and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Python and/or PySpark experience is a plus.
- Delta Lake/Lakehouse concepts, Medallion architecture, REST APIs/JSON integrations, event-driven integrations, Azure Service Bus, data migration, legacy-platform modernization, Azure Key Vault, secure credential handling, data governance, data quality, and Microsoft Fabric/Azure data-engineering certifications are preferred.
