Responsibilities
- Oversee Google Cloud Platform operations and maintain the availability and performance of critical business applications.
- Provision GCP resources, including GCE, GKE, and BigQuery datasets, through Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy applications on GKE and configure service and ingress files.
- Create GKE clusters, manage pod services, tune performance, and administer workload, ingress, and egress services.
- Implement automation, alert management, and self-healing solutions to reduce manual intervention.
- Implement IAM and other access control measures to prevent unauthorized system changes.
- Address platform violations and vulnerabilities according to group requirements and guidelines.
- Install and configure open-source tools on the GCP platform.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience, including 3 or more years designing and operating production systems on GCP.
- Strong experience creating and operating GKE clusters, managing pod services, tuning GKE performance, deploying workloads, and configuring ingress and egress services.
- Good knowledge of IAM roles and access provisioning.
- Ability to learn and configure new open-source tools on GCP.
- Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, G3, and HDPv2.
