Base Salary
$135k - $228k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and maintain C/C++ applications and middleware on embedded Linux or POSIX-based platforms.
- Develop reusable system services, libraries, APIs, configuration and preference management, persistent data services, diagnostics, and system management software.
- Build multithreaded applications and inter-process communication mechanisms across heterogeneous CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs, and other specialized processors.
- Integrate, debug, and perform root-cause analysis across application, middleware, operating system, hardware, GPU, FPGA, and accelerated components.
- Support software integration, verification, validation, product bring-up, unit and integration testing, code reviews, CI/CD, and automated software testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of industry experience or master’s degree with 4+ years of industry experience in computer science, computer engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience developing and supporting embedded systems in a production environment.
- Strong C or C++ skills, including production software development, object-oriented design, modular architecture, and API design.
- Experience with Linux or POSIX application or middleware development, multithreading, concurrency, IPC, client/server architectures, persistent data, schemas, transactions, and data integrity.
- Experience debugging application and system-level software with Linux development tools and familiarity with TCP/IP networking.
- Ability to work with heterogeneous computing systems involving CPUs and hardware-accelerated components, including GPUs or FPGAs.
- Experience with configuration management, code reviews, unit and integration testing, and working knowledge of Python or shell scripting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering functions.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with middleware or platform services, SQLite, sockets, shared memory, message queues, RPC, protobuf, JSON, systemd, asynchronous architectures, Yocto/OpenEmbedded, robotics, medical devices, regulated products, or safety-critical systems.
