Responsibilities
- Design and build agentic workflows that plan, call tools, and chain multi-step actions.
- Integrate LLMs into products and internal tools through APIs and inference or serving frameworks.
- Architect RAG pipelines covering document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, retrieval, and vector database integration.
- Design prompts, system instructions, and context-management strategies to guide model behavior.
- Select and integrate orchestration tools for multi-agent and multi-step workflows.
- Build evaluation harnesses and test suites for workflow accuracy, reliability, and regression tracking.
- Translate ambiguous business problems into technical specifications, prototypes, and production solutions.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and subject-matter stakeholders to identify automation opportunities.
- Monitor deployed AI workflows using observability tools for latency, cost, and output quality.
- Stay current with AI agent frameworks, models, and techniques and recommend appropriate adoption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Demonstrated experience building applications on top of LLM APIs, including API providers or self-hosted inference.
- Practical experience with at least one agent orchestration framework or workflow automation platform.
- Strong understanding of RAG architecture, including embeddings, vector search, chunking, and retrieval strategy.
- Strong general-purpose programming ability in Python and/or a modern backend language.
- Ability to independently design technical approaches for abstract business problems.
- Comfort working with APIs, containers, and cloud or on-premises infrastructure.
- Ability to work in-office in Waterloo, Ontario.
- Asset qualifications include vector databases, hybrid search, reranking, inference or serving frameworks, model gateways, AI evaluation and observability pipelines, multi-agent patterns, production AI delivery, and model fine-tuning concepts.

- Starting annual total compensation, including base salary and performance incentives, is stated as $100,000 to $150,000 CAD depending on experience.
