Base Salary
$176k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain security policies, standards, documentation, and system security plans.
- Maintain and prioritize a backlog of security investments.
- Conduct security assessments across cloud infrastructure, ML pipelines, and application code and mitigate identified vulnerabilities.
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, lead root-cause analysis, and drive remediation to closure.
- Build tooling for security compliance, observability, governance, audit logging, access control, vulnerability management, and configuration baselines.
- Partner with research and engineering teams to address security concerns and improve secure-development practices.
- Evaluate and secure SaaS platforms through vendor risk assessments, access reviews, data-handling reviews, and multi-tenant data-isolation assessments.
- Advise organizational and technical leaders by translating security risks into practical recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8–10 years of overall software or infrastructure engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of focused experience in security engineering, application security, or security architecture, ideally including ownership of a security program.
- Hands-on experience conducting security and compliance audits and implementing or assessing controls, including experience such as NIST 800-171.
- Ability to address ambiguous, high-stakes problems and build a security program from the ground up.
- Ability to advise non-security technical leaders and translate technical risk into actionable recommendations.
