Base Salary
$186k - $219k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize blockchain node performance, diagnose resource consumption root causes, and implement system-level fixes that reduce infrastructure costs while maintaining reliability.
- Build observability, health-check, and automated failover capabilities for blockchain nodes.
- Drive right-sizing across the node fleet by profiling workloads, identifying over-provisioned instances, and establishing capacity models.
- Partner with protocol integration, wallet, and indexer teams to extend performance improvements across the blockchain platform.
- Define and implement SLOs and SLIs for node services and create a reliability measurement framework.
- Support protocol upgrades and node operations through performance validation and regression testing before production rollout.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in systems-level performance analysis, profiling, and production infrastructure optimization.
- Hands-on experience operating distributed systems at scale, diagnosing resource bottlenecks, tuning service performance, and managing capacity across heterogeneous workloads.
- Proficiency in backend programming, with Go preferred, and systems tooling for profiling, tracing, and observability.
- A track record of reducing infrastructure costs through engineering optimization with measurable outcomes such as cost or latency improvements.
- Experience with blockchain nodes, consensus protocols, or crypto infrastructure is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with how different blockchain protocols behave under load and during upgrades.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight and delivering measurable workflow, cost, and quality improvements.
