Base Salary
$147k - $310k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, capacity planning, ingestion, integrations, lifecycle management, reliability, and operations of the enterprise Splunk SIEM platform.
- Serve as the highest technical escalation point for critical incidents across application, platform, infrastructure, operating-system, network, and distributed-system layers.
- Design and scale high-throughput ingestion pipelines integrating Syslog, Kubernetes/containerized platforms, and cloud and enterprise systems.
- Drive observability, performance engineering, incident response, root-cause analysis, resilience, disaster recovery readiness, and SRE practices.
- Own authentication, RBAC, access control, governance, and compliance for the platform.
- Design automation and configuration-management solutions using Git and Ansible to reduce operational toil.
- Develop bespoke solutions using Python, Java, or Golang and evaluate emerging AI/ML-driven analytics and contextual data technologies.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and mentorship while influencing engineering direction across teams as an individual contributor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in information security or related technology; securities or financial-services experience is a plus.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Splunk platform engineering and large-scale SIEM environments.
- Strong SRE and distributed-systems expertise with the ability to debug complex issues across application, operating-system, and network layers.
- Expertise in Linux/Unix performance tuning and low-level troubleshooting, networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, packet analysis, Syslog pipelines, and latency debugging.
- Experience building and operating high-volume data-ingestion and processing systems.
- Proficiency in Splunk SPL and data analysis.
- Strong programming or scripting skills in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with DevOps, Ansible, Git, Kubernetes, and containerized environments.
- Deep understanding of security models, RBAC, enterprise controls, automation, scalability, and operational ownership.
- Ability to operate independently in high-pressure situations, resolve high-impact incidents, and provide hands-on technical guidance.
- Technical depth and hands-on AI literacy, including knowledge of MCP design.
