Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Build AI applications, agents, skills, connectors, and workflow automations for Reddit business problems.
- Translate ambiguous business and technical problems into AI-native workflows, architecture, and delivery plans.
- Embed with internal functions to understand workflows, systems, data, goals, and success measures.
- Integrate approved data, tools, APIs, and actions into safe end-to-end production workflows.
- Define evaluations, review gates, human-in-the-loop controls, observability, evidence, governance, support, reversibility, and ownership.
- Prototype quickly and productionize priority workflows when feasible.
- Transfer maintainable workflows to function owners and reduce long-term team dependency.
- Feed recurring needs and infrastructure requirements back to the AI Platform Hub.
- Create reusable agents, skills, templates, connectors, playbooks, and platform patterns.
- Set AI strategy, technical direction, roadmap priorities, and investment priorities across Reddit.
- Organize engineers’ work, clarify ownership and dependencies, build shared capabilities, and mentor engineers and technical leads through design and code reviews.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience building software, including automations, workflows, AI applications, agents, or internal tools.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, production judgment, and the ability to navigate ambiguous business and technical discovery.
- Experience with MCP, reusable tool integrations, and enterprise identity and access patterns.
- Experience integrating APIs, data systems, enterprise tools, and workflow actions.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI agents with tool use, orchestration, state management, and failure handling.
- Production LLM experience with retrieval, structured outputs, evaluations, monitoring, and controls.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and product judgment through architecture decisions, reviews, mentoring, and cross-team influence.
- Ability to prioritize ambiguous opportunities and communicate technical, business, and operational tradeoffs.
- Experience creating a component, engineering practice, or architectural pattern adopted beyond the candidate’s project.
- Ability to build trust with business stakeholders and establish clear decisions, responsibilities, and success measures.
- Preferred experience in applied AI, forward-deployed engineering, internal platforms, or enterprise workflow modernization.
- Preferred experience improving engineering practices across multiple teams, delivering auditable or sensitive-data workflows, measuring workflow gains, and driving AI adoption through feedback, onboarding, and training.
