Responsibilities
- Eliminate toil through automation and software development.
- Partner with application teams and internal stakeholders to promote reliability practices.
- Create a resilient, cost-effective, and secure-by-default cloud-native platform.
- Scale cloud infrastructure supporting a Kubernetes-based ecosystem.
- Maintain and improve platform services, security posture, observability, orchestration, and disaster readiness.
- Participate in production support and on-call rotations, providing senior-level guidance during critical events.
- Lead incident management and post-incident retrospectives and coach teams in these practices.
- Contribute to architectural discussions, standardization, change management, and service scalability.
Requirements
- Experience writing design documents, postmortems, and refactoring application code.
- Experience building automation to reduce operational burden or developing internal SaaS tools.
- Ability to advocate for and introduce SRE principles such as SLOs and SLAs.
- Experience in public cloud or hosted datacenter environments, with Azure and AKS preferred.
- Passion for collaborative teamwork and influencing reliability best practices across teams.
- Hands-on Linux server experience, with Ubuntu or Debian preferred.
- Knowledge of Terraform and Chef preferred.
- Experience with Docker and containerization or clustering technologies preferred.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or EFK preferred.
- Practical CI/CD pipeline and rollout strategy experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.
- Familiarity with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Ruby scripting.
